Are you a self motivated, detail oriented professional who enjoys solving problems and helping members find solutions? Credit union is seeking a dependable Member Solutions Specialist to manage collection efforts while maintaining strong member relationships.
In this role, you will work with members to resolve delinquent accounts, develop payment solutions, and ensure collection efforts are handled effectively and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This is a great opportunity for a strong communicator and problem solver who enjoys both the analytical and member service side of collections.
Position Summary
The Member Solutions Specialist is responsible for managing the credit union’s collection efforts including letters, phone calls, door knocks, repossessions, and remarketing activities. This position works closely with leadership to support the financial health of the credit union while helping members navigate challenging financial situations.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide prompt, professional service to internal and external members
• Manage collection efforts including calls, letters, skip tracing, and door knocks when necessary
• Work with members to establish payment arrangements that benefit both the member and the credit union
• Ensure all collection activity complies with applicable laws and regulations
• Maintain accurate collection notes within the collection system and core system
• File and follow up on disability claims as needed
• Ensure members maintain proper insurance on collateral loans and place Collateral Protection Insurance when required
• Process charge offs accurately and timely
• Monitor collection reports including delinquent loans, first payment defaults, large loan delinquencies, and credit card over the limit reports
• Manage vendors related to the collection process
• Support branch teams by assisting members and promoting credit union products and services
• Assist leadership in maintaining effective operational procedures and supporting a strong team environment
Qualifications
- Minimum two years collections experience
- Credit union experience preferred
- Extensive customer service experience required
- Self motivated, dependable, detail oriented, and a strong problem solver
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Comfortable working with general office and financial equipment
