What are the responsibilities and job description for the Relationship Development Associate – Financial Services position at Financial Growth Partners?
Looking to build a career as a Financial Advisor? This is where that starts.
A lot of people are rethinking what they want out of a career right now. Maybe you got laid off, or watched it happen to people around you. Maybe you graduated into a job market that feels shaky, or maybe you've been in financial services for years and you're ready for something more. Whatever brought you here, give this a read.
At Financial Growth Partners we're hiring across all experience levels, and we mean that literally. Some of our best people came in hungry and brand new to the industry, and others came in seasoned and ready to do more. Both belong here.
The Role
We're looking for Financial Advisors and Relationship Development Associates to join our growing teams across Southern Virginia, with offices in Virginia Beach, Richmond, and Charlottesville.
If you're new, you'll learn how to build professional relationships, communicate value, and support real client work in an environment built around mentorship, with your responsibilities growing as you do. If you're experienced, you'll find the platform, planning depth, and collaborative culture that make your next chapter worth building.
What You'll Do
- Build and develop professional relationships with clients and prospects
- Support and take part in financial planning and client strategy conversations
- Grow your network and your book of business over time
- Work alongside experienced advisors, specialists, and leaders
- Pursue licensing and credentials with full training and support
- Take on leadership opportunities as your production grows
One of the Industry's Leading Contracts
Guardian offers one of the strongest Field Representative contracts in the business, built to give you salary-like stability while you grow in a performance-based career:
- Statutory W2 income paid through a draw, creating consistent, salary-like cash flow in a performance-based environment
- Individual Life Insurance, Individual Disability Insurance, and Group Benefits drive your revenue and income through Guardian's FR contract
- Life, Accident, and Health license required (we provide full support toward this if you're not yet licensed)
Growth and Licensing
If you're newer to the industry, we provide full support toward your Life and Health Insurance License, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7, and Series 66.
If you're already licensed, you'll have immediate access to advanced planning capabilities, joint work opportunities, and a clear path into leadership and team building.
The Platform Behind You
Financial Growth Partners is a subsidiary of Guardian, a mutual insurance company that has spent more than 160 years helping families and business owners build financial security.
Through Park Avenue Wealth Management, our advisors get access to sophisticated planning tools, investment platforms, and practice management resources built to help you serve clients at a higher level. You're not going it alone. You're building something real with real backing.
What Makes This Different
Plenty of roles promise growth. This one is actually built around it.
- Mentorship from advisors who are genuinely invested in your success
- A collaborative team culture instead of sink-or-swim
- Entrepreneurial freedom backed by a nationally recognized platform
- Compensation that grows with your licensing, production, and responsibility
- Leadership pathways for those who want to build teams and make a bigger impact
Benefits
- Retirement benefits including a Defined Benefit Pension Plan and a qualified 401(k) with company match
- Health and welfare benefits including Medical, Rx, Dental, Vision, and Short-Term Disability
- Mental health resources through Spring Health
- Critical Illness coverage and Adoption Assistance
- Matching Gift Program up to $5,000 annually
Who This Is For
If you're early in your career or making a change, you're motivated, coachable, and ready to bet on yourself. You want something you can build and own instead of just a paycheck, and you're drawn to relationships, leadership, and long-term upside. A degree helps, but it isn't required.
If you're an experienced advisor, you've built a track record and you're ready for more, whether that's deeper planning resources, better collaboration, or a path into leadership. Series 7 and 66 preferred, but let's have the conversation.
