Position Summary
Perform a variety of responsible legal administrative duties in support of an assigned attorney, to include but not limited to preparing and reviewing legal documents and creating and maintaining case files; provide information and assistance, within area of assignment, to the general public, other departments and governmental agencies.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
High School Diploma or GED; and
Three (3) years of administrative assistant experience.
Two (2) years of experience as a legal/assistant working under the supervision of a licensed attorney preferred.
ProLaw and/or experience with a case management system is preferred.
Preferred Knowledge
- Legal terminology and the forms and documents used in legal clerical work
- Legal procedures and practices involved in composing, processing and filing a variety of legal documents
- ProLaw Case Management Software Application or an Equivalent Case Management Software Application
- Microsoft Office
- Standard legal references and content
- Applicable court rules regarding deadlines and formatting of briefs
- Business letter writing and basic report preparation
- Principles and procedures of record keeping and reporting
- English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment
Preferred Skills & Abilities
- Review and prioritize incoming projects to effectively meet deadlines
- Perform responsible legal assistant work involving the use of independent judgment and personal initiative
- Independently prepare standard legal documents and correspondence
- Work independently in the absence of supervision
- Operate and use modern office equipment including a computer
- Type at a speed necessary for successful job performance
- Maintain confidentiality regarding matters of a legal nature
- Communicate clearly and concisely
