Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards.
- Plan efficient delivery routes using organizational skills and route driving knowledge to maximize productivity.
- Load, unload, and secure merchandise with proper heavy lifting practices to prevent damage or injury.
- Communicate clearly with clients during deliveries, addressing questions or concerns professionally while building positive customer relationships.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with automobile transportation safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records in accordance with company policies.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including commercial truck driving and retail store delivery roles.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, route coordination, and team collaboration.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe lifting practices to ensure compliance and safety on the job.
