Position Summary:
The Jr. Buyer provides support to the supply chain department specifically with the purchasing of hardware and accessories for production and office supplies for the facility. The Jr. Buyer will collaborate with the supply chain, operations, and production teams to understand inventory management, warehouse operations and order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor accessories levels on production floor using Kanban system to ensure optimal inventory for planned production.
- Determine material demand, place purchase orders and release shipment to Clear Edge as needed.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain Manager to maintain acceptable inventory levels within budget.
- Proactively place sales orders and provide forecast information to Planning team.
- Monitor and purchase office supplies for the facility collaborating with all departments to ensure consistency.
- Execute requisition request sheets ensuring that materials needed arrive in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with supply chain team members on miscellaneous supply chain, buying and planning functions to understand processes with the ability to assist in all processes.
- Identify and implement process and continuous improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma and 1 year of experience in supply chain required.
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite programs Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics BC or other ERP software a plus.
- Experience with Supply Chain processes and in a Manufacturing Environment a plus.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices a plus.
