Job Summary:
Filterbuy, a leader in the air quality and manufacturing world, is seeking two Sanitation Technician/ Forklift Operator. Their purpose is to properly collect the garbage and recyclables at our facility, both inside and outside.
A Sanitation Worker’s responsibilities include disposing of waste correctly and ensuring that there is no garbage left in all areas of the facility.
They will be operating a forklift, regularly, and this must be done with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. You must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles. The goal will be to ensure that materials and products are always in the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.
This role will report to the Inventory Supervisor in Ogden, UT. The schedule could be Monday-Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, 10-hr shifts.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operate recycling machine (baler) and garbage compactor.
- Manually collect garbage and use a forklift as necessary.
- Responding to and cleaning up spills of product or other materials.
- Clean-up, organize, and properly store pallets within the facility.
- Clean up warehouse floor (pallets, cardboard, plastic, etc.) Clearing aisles of debris and ensuring they are free from obstacles.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment to move components or products.
- Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines.
- Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned areas.
- Move materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, and manufacturing areas as needed.
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by reporting any maintenance needed.
- Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
- Lift heavy objects and work in all weather conditions
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required skills and qualifications:
- Ability to obtain certification to operate forklifts.
- A minimum of 1 year experience operating a forklift.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques when handling heavy objects
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
- Must be able to work independently with little guidance and stay on task.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear).
- Great teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.
- Excellent dependability
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, and bend.
- Occasionally required to climb and crouch.
- Frequently required to push, pull, lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
- Required to maintain body balance while ascending or descending the forklift, and to maintain body equilibrium while bending at the waist or at the knees.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
