Role Description
We’re seeking an experienced Controller to oversee all accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial systems. This full-time role manages accounting functions, prepares financial reports, maintains compliance with nonprofit standards, and supports leadership with budgeting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
- Oversee monthly closes and financial reporting
- Ensure GAAP and nonprofit compliance (IRS Form 990, ECFA, audits)
- Assist CFO and leadership with forecasting and budgeting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 5 years of accounting experience, nonprofit experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Detail-oriented, trustworthy, and aligned with our mission
Headquarters Location: 1400 Jack Warner Parkway, Tuscaloosa, AL. (Candidate must live within 40 miles)
Compensation: Generous salary and benefits, commensurate with experience
