What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nutritional Services Worker - Part Time Late Tray position at FILLMORE COUNTY HOSPITAL?
Part-time position. Hours are 11AM-7:30PM. Every other weekend required.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for a wide variety of food tasks, including assisting in the preparation of meals, washing dishes and/or serving meals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior food service experience preferred
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Prepares meals by following approved menus.
- Prepares drinks and food according to the order.
- Prepares drinks and food in a sanitary manner.
- Ensures proper proportions, portioning and serving of food.
- Tastes and smells food to determine quality and palatability.
2. Assists with cooking and tray assembly ensuring a smooth work flow from food preparation to delivery.
- Assists in putting away clean dishware.
- Assists in setting patient trays, serving guests and staff.
- Sets up and disassemble trays after meals.
- Prepares dining room for meals.
- Sets up carts for meals.
- Follows diet cards and special diet instructions for all meals.
3. Prepares the patient satisfaction survey and distributes to patients, when time allows.
- Collects completed surveys.
4. Assists in stocking and maintaining supplies for the kitchen and dining room.
- Follows procedures for delivery day.
- Restocks kitchen as needed.
- Restocks cafeteria necessities.
- Checks temperatures in cooling units and accurately records them.
5. Follows HACCP safety and sanitary guidelines.
- Ensures proper washing and sanitizing of all dishes and cooking equipment.
- Cleans tables, work surfaces and appliances.
- Cleans floors in dietary by sweeping and mopping.
6. Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of patients medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained.
7. Participates in FCH committees, quality assurance, performance and quality improvement initiatives, and activities which support the facility and department operations.
8. Complies with the state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of FCH operations and requirements of the FCH Compliance Program. Including but not limited to:
- The Compliance Policy.
- Completes all on-line training annually and as assigned.
- All department and organization-wide policies.
- Considers the impact of regulations such as Critical Access Hospital requirements, along with Federal and State of Nebraska regulations and discusses concerns appropriately to ensure compliance.
9. Presents self in a professional manner and enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
