What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager - New Product Development position at Fill-Rite?
Great products take shape when people, priorities, and execution come together. At Fill-Rite, we’re looking for a New Product Development Project Manager (Fort Wayne, IN or Lenexa, KS ) to lead that effort—guiding cross-functional teams from initial concept through production launch.
In this role, you’ll work across engineering, product management, operations, sourcing, sales, marketing, and finance to turn product strategy into clear plans and successful launches. You’ll keep teams aligned, resolve barriers, and drive progress while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer needs.
What You’ll Do
- Lead new product development projects from concept through launch using Fill-Rite’s stage-gate process and Playbook methodology.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, and risks.
- Coordinate testing, validation, certification, tooling, sourcing, and manufacturing readiness.
- Lead project reviews, communicate progress, and help teams make timely decisions.
- Improve project flow and delivery through visual planning, clear priorities, and lessons learned.
- Drive project execution against key milestones and critical-path activities, proactively identifying constraints, resolving or escalating barriers, and maintaining accountability for commitments across the cross-functional team.
What You’ll Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- At least five years of project management, product development, engineering, or operations experience in manufacturing, including three years leading cross-functional projects.
- Demonstrated success bringing complex products or programs into production.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and financial skills, with the ability to influence across teams.
- Experience applying structured project execution methods such as Lean, Agile, Critical Chain, visual planning, or similar approaches; experience with Playbook methodology is a plus.
- PMP certification or formal project management training preferred.
Up to 25% travel may be required.
Your Impact
You’ll help teams focus on the highest-value work, improve launch readiness, and deliver products that meet customer and business goals.
