What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Estimator & Project Coordinator position at Fike Bros Carpet One?
Fike Bros Carpet One Floor & Home is expanding, and we are looking for a sharp,
driven Commercial Estimator & Project Coordinator to join our commercial flooring and
window treatments division. If you have a keen eye for blueprints, excellent phone skills,
and love seeing a project through from the initial bid to the final walkthrough, we want to
talk to you.
In this dynamic role, you will be the backbone of our commercial estimating and site
management operations. You will handle everything from descoping hard bid specs and
executing detailed takeoffs to cold-calling new prospects and running sample submittals
directly to general contractors and architects. This is a hybrid role that perfectly blends
analytical office work with hands-on site coordination.
What You Will Do
Takeoffs & Estimates: Descope hard bid specs, conduct detailed takeoffs, and
build accurate project estimates.
Sales Support: Assist our sales professionals with Main Street commercial
estimates by initiating job files and takeoffs so we can follow up with GCs and
architects faster.
Lead Generation: Actively cold call and headhunt potential commercial clients
over the phone to book new estimate opportunities.
Pipeline Management: Keep a close pulse on our submitted hard bids, securing
consistent tracking updates from clients.
Field & Site Support: Run samples and submittals to clients, conduct on-site
walkthroughs, coordinate site readiness for installers, run contractor meetings,
and review completed work for punch list items.
Specialty Operations: Master window treatment specialties for Main Street and
hard bids, including performing custom installations.
Subcontractor Coordination: Make crucial reminder calls to our subcontractors to
review and lock in upcoming project schedules.
What We Are Looking For
Proven experience in construction estimating, blueprint reading, and executing
digital takeoffs.
Strong phone confidence with a track record of cold calling or business
development.
A proactive communicator who can build fast relationships with GCs, architects,
and subcontractors.
Excellent organizational skills to jump seamlessly between building spreadsheets
and driving out to jobsites.
Basic hand tool proficiency for window treatment installations.
A valid driver’s license for client submittal runs and site visits.
