Position Summary 

The Education Manager– High School & Postsecondary Success provides leadership for educational programming serving students in grades 9–12 and young adults transitioning to college, careers, and future opportunities. 

This role is responsible for developing and overseeing programs that support academic achievement, college access, career exploration, leadership development, and postsecondary success. The Education Manager– High School & Postsecondary Success serves as the organization’s subject matter expert in secondary and postsecondary pathways while supporting students, families, instructional staff, and community partners. 

Reporting to the Director of Education & Student Success, this role ensures students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to successfully navigate high school, higher education, and career opportunities

Key Responsibilities 

Program Leadership & Curriculum Development 

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of high school and postsecondary success programming. 
  • Design engaging learning experiences focused on: 
    • College readiness
    • Career exploration
    • Financial literacy
    • Leadership development
    • Life skills
    • Professional readiness
  • Develop opportunities that expose students to diverse educational and career pathways. 
  • Meet regularly for 1:1 college counseling with juniors and seniors
  • Coordinate workshops, enrichment experiences, mentorship opportunities, and career exposure activities.

Student & Family Support 

  • Serve as a key point of contact for high school students and families. 
  • Support students with academic planning, goal setting, college exploration, applications, and financial aid awareness. 
  • Provide guidance on internships, scholarships, volunteer opportunities, and career pathways. 
  • Facilitate family workshops focused on college access, financial aid, and postsecondary planning. 

Partnerships & Opportunity Development 

  • Build and maintain relationships with: 
  • High schools 
  • Colleges and universities 
  • Employers 
  • Community organizations 
  • Scholarship and mentorship programs 
  • Identify opportunities that expand student access to academic, career, and leadership experiences. 
  • Represent the organization with external partners. 

Teacher & Tutor Leadership 

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of teachers, tutors, and facilitators. 
  • Provide instructional coaching and program support. 
  • Promote engaging, student-centered, and culturally responsive teaching practices. 
  • Ensure consistent quality across educational programming. 

Data & Outcomes 

  • Track student progress toward graduation, college enrollment, persistence, career pathways, and other success indicators. 
  • Maintain accurate student records and outcome data. 
  • Analyze program effectiveness and recommend improvements. 
  • Support reporting requirements for leadership, funders, and stakeholders. 

Collaboration 

  • Collaborate with the Director of Education & Student Success and Education Program Manager – Elementary & Middle School Success to create a continuous educational pathway from childhood through young adulthood. 
  • Work with internal departments to support student opportunities and organizational goals. 
  • Contribute to department planning and continuous improvement efforts. 

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Youth Development, Higher Education, or related field. 
  • 5 years of experience working with high school students and/or young adults. 
  • Experience developing college access, career readiness, or youth development programming. 
  • Knowledge of postsecondary pathways, college access, and career exploration. 
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Commitment to educational equity and youth empowerment. 

Preferred 

  • Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, Higher Education, or related field. 
  • Experience with college advising, career readiness, or workforce development. 
  • Experience building partnerships with colleges, employers, and community organizations. 
  • Familiarity with NYC education systems and college access resources.
