Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Grants, Contracts & Compliance Manager to lead funding research, grant development, contract procurement, proposal preparation, and compliance activities across multiple affiliated organizations, including:
- One for-profit entity
- Two nonprofit entities
This is a hands-on, senior-level position for someone who can find opportunities, determine which entity is eligible, prepare and submit competitive applications and proposals, and manage compliance requirements after an award or contract is received.
The successful candidate must understand the important differences between funding opportunities available to for-profit businesses and nonprofit organizations and know how to strategically pursue opportunities for both.
Key ResponsibilitiesGrants & Funding
- Proactively research federal, state, county, municipal, foundation, corporate, and private funding opportunities.
- Identify appropriate grant opportunities for the nonprofit entities.
- Identify grants, contracts, procurement opportunities, and other funding programs available to the for-profit entity.
- Carefully review eligibility requirements before recommending or submitting applications.
- Determine which entity is the appropriate applicant for each funding opportunity.
- Prepare and submit complete, competitive grant applications.
- Write compelling narratives, statements of need, program descriptions, goals, objectives, measurable outcomes, sustainability plans, and other required materials.
- Prepare letters of intent, concept papers, executive summaries, and supporting documents.
- Coordinate budgets and financial information with leadership.
- Maintain a comprehensive grant calendar and funding pipeline.
- Track applications, deadlines, award decisions, reporting requirements, renewals, and closeouts.
Contracts & Procurement
- Research and identify federal, state, county, municipal, and private contracting opportunities.
- Monitor RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, bids, solicitations, and procurement notices.
- Determine which entity is eligible and best positioned to pursue each opportunity.
- Analyze scopes of work, qualifications, evaluation criteria, insurance requirements, certifications, deliverables, and contractual obligations.
- Prepare competitive proposals and bid packages.
- Maintain vendor registrations, procurement profiles, certifications, and required organizational documentation.
- Support contract negotiations, renewals, amendments, reporting, and closeout.
Compliance & Post-Award Management
- Maintain grant and contract compliance across all supported entities.
- Review award agreements and contracts and communicate obligations to leadership.
- Track reporting deadlines, performance requirements, financial requirements, deliverables, certifications, and renewals.
- Maintain organized documentation for audits, monitoring reviews, grant reporting, and contract oversight.
- Assist with policies, procedures, internal controls, and compliance systems.
- Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with leadership, finance, operations, and program staff to ensure funding and contractual requirements are followed.
- Help ensure grant and contract expenditures are properly documented and allowable.
- Maintain readiness for audits, funder reviews, and monitoring visits.
