Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists efficiently using OpenTable or similar reservation systems
• Escort guests to their tables, ensuring a smooth and welcoming seating process
• Relay orders promptly from the kitchen to the dining area as a Food Runner, maintaining communication with culinary staff
• Serve food and beverages with professionalism, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks, ensuring proper presentation and guest satisfaction
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; handle cash and credit card payments securely
• Upsell menu items including specialty drinks and desserts to enhance guest experience and increase sales
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all service areas; handle food safely and adhere to food industry regulations
• Assist with basic food preparation when needed; support kitchen staff during busy periods
• Provide exceptional guest services by addressing questions about menu items, wine knowledge, or beverage options
• Support team members during high-volume times by serving efficiently and managing multiple tables seamlessly

Skills

• Proven experience in food service roles such as hosting, waiting tables, or food running within a restaurant or hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; capable of processing sales transactions accurately
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
• Familiarity with beverage service including cocktails, spirits, wine knowledge, and drink presentation techniques
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting; prioritize tasks efficiently during busy hours
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating bills confidently
• Experience with OpenTable for reservations management is a plus
• Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices in the food industry
• Culinary or kitchen experience is advantageous for supporting food preparation tasks
• Demonstrated upselling abilities to enhance guest experiences while increasing revenue opportunities
• Strong communication skills to coordinate smoothly with kitchen staff and front-of-house team
• Hospitality background with a focus on guest relations and creating welcoming atmospheres
