Role Description This is a part-time Hygienist role based on-site at FIFTH STREET DENTAL CARE PLLC in Dexter, MI. We are looking to add 1-2 days of hygiene to our schedule. The Hygienist will perform routine dental hygiene procedures, including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, and patient education on oral health. Daily responsibilities include reviewing medical histories, assessing oral conditions, taking and recording periodontal measurements, and applying preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants. The role involves collaborating with dentists on patient care plans, assisting in the identification of dental conditions, and documenting all procedures accurately in patient records. The Hygienist is also expected to follow strict infection control protocols, maintain operatory cleanliness, and contribute to a positive, inclusive patient experience.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical skills in dental Hygiene and Dental Care, including prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, and patient education.
- Foundational knowledge of Dentistry, including general and cosmetic procedures, and ability to collaborate effectively with dentists on treatment planning.
- Proficiency in Infection Control practices, including sterilization, operatory disinfection, and adherence to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Experience with preventive treatments such as applying Sealants and providing tailored home-care recommendations.
- Active state license as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) in Michigan and current CPR/BLS certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support patients of all ages in a respectful, non-judgmental manner.
- Comfort using dental practice management software and digital radiography systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented, patient-focused environment and manage time effectively in a busy practice.
