The Fifth Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office, serving Richland and Kershaw counties, seeks highly motivated individuals ready to serve the public and our community.
We are currently accepting applications from experienced and new attorneys for the position of Assistant Solicitor.
An Assistant Solicitor's primary role is to prosecute criminal cases, which requires a significant amount of time spent in the courtroom, handling a combination of jury trials, guilty pleas, and motions.
Additional duties include case evaluation, victim/law enforcement meetings, legal research, and working with senior staff.
We provide Assistant Solicitors with opportunities to regularly attend CLEs, conferences, and trainings to stay up to date on the latest trends in criminal law.
Minimum starting salary is $74,000 with room for negotiating an increase depending upon qualifications and/or experience, up to $120,000.
Insurance, paid vacation/sick leave, State Benefits/Retirement packages, license fee payment, and paid CLEs are included for all full-time employees. Other negotiable potential bonuses could be awarded for hiring, relocation, and annually.
