Job Description 

The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing and organizing ingredients to support kitchen operations while maintaining food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in a fast-paced quick service restaurant environment. 

• Maintain proper and clean uniform at all times 

• Arrive on time and follow attendance policies 

• Prepare ingredients including chopping, slicing, portioning, and labeling 

• Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and FIFO procedures 

• Maintain correct food temperatures and storage conditions 

• Assist cooks with food preparation and station setup 

• Keep prep areas clean, sanitized, and organized 

• Stock and replenish kitchen supplies as needed 

• Follow all side duties assigned by management 

• Follow sanitation and safety standards 

• Maintain a positive attitude and have fun 

Job Qualifications 

• Basic English comprehension skills 

• Ability to follow prep lists and instructions 

• Knowledge of food safety practices (or willingness to learn) 

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

• Strong attention to detail and organization 

• Team-oriented with a positive attitude 

• Reliable attendance and punctuality 

• Previous kitchen or prep experience preferred but not required 

Physical Demands & Work Environment 

• Stand and work for extended periods (8 hours) 

• Lift and move items 25 lbs or more 

• Work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment 

• Maintain sanitation and food safety standards 

• Safely use cleaning chemicals and kitchen equipment
