THE POSITION
Reporting organisationally to the Venue Competition Manager, the Venue Competition Coordinator will be a key member of the FIFA26 Competition Management team, and work in close collaboration with the FIFA Match Coordinator, the Venue Management team, Stadium Authority, Logistics, Pitch Management, Team Services, Catering, Transportation and other key individuals responsible for delivering all operational tasks at the specific Venue, where he/she has been appointed.
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Venue Competition Coordinator for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
- The Competition Operations Coordinator is part of the FWC2026 Competition Operations staff at the specific Venue, where he/she has been appointed.
- Being counterpart to the FIFA Match Coordinator.
- Being in close contact with the Venue Management team, Stadium Authority, Logistics and Pitch Management, coordinating with them all infrastructural and equipment deliverables, as well as submission of requirements within given timelines.
- Being in close contact with Team Services, Catering, and Transportation, coordinating with them all submission of Teams’ and Referees' requirements (dressing room, jacuzzi, cold bath temperature, catering, equipment) within given timelines.
- Managing Competitions Volunteers' Communication and Assignment processes.
- Preparing offices and meeting rooms (furniture, stationery, equipment etc.) for daily operations and official functions.
- Being responsible for preparing the MCM room and printouts for each meeting In cooperation with the FIFA Match Coordinator.
- Supporting the delivery of Familiarisation sessions.
- Checking if all the benches and goalposts are placed and installed accordingly, and all lines and marks are painted.
- Executing any other duties and responsibilities delegated by Venue Competition Operations Manager.

Education & Qualifications
Education & Qualifications
- High School Degree minimum, Bachelor’s Degree in Sport or Event Management preferred.
- Master's Degree is an additional asset.
- Extensive and well-founded international football knowledge.
- Extensive knowledge of event & competition/match operations as well as sport facility operations within appointed venue.
- Experience working with international football associations.
- Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment as directed for Federations and Competition Management.
- Experience or knowledge of local sports culture of USA, Mexico and Canada will be an added benefit.
- Strong administrative and IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to effectively communicate rules and regulations set forth by FIFA World Cup 2026.

- Ability to work under pressure and stress of high-profile events.
- Sound judgement and prioritization of tasks.
- Ability to adhere to credential policy and confidentiality.
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 (two) years of experience in football or event management, international experience preferred.
- A minimum of 2 (two) years full-time experience in a support role at a professional team or venue.
- Proven track record in successfully operating professional sporting events.
- Experience implementing competition rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of event planning and event project management processes.
Languages
- Be fluent in English (oral and written); any additional language skills (in particular Spanish and French) is a plus.
Technology
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools.
