THE POSITION

Reporting organisationally to the Sustainability & Human Rights Venue Manager, the Safeguarding & Anti-Discrimination Stadium Manager (SAM) will be assigned to a specific FWC26 Venue (Stadium) to assist with delivery of safeguarding, anti-discrimination and inclusion activities on all matchdays at this stadium during the tournament.

This role will act as the consistent central point of contact and be responsible for venue specific implementation of safeguarding, anti-discrimination and inclusion matters on match days in line with the strategy, policy and procedures at the FWC26 to ensure a safe football experience for everyone.

The main responsibilities of the SAM at each venue, for the FWC26 include:

  • Serve as the lead contact for safeguarding and anti-discrimination inclusion matters across the designated stadium across all match days.
  • On matchdays, support a small group of Volunteers in performing duties designated by the Sustainability and Human Rights Venue Manager and report back on all activities at the end of shift.
  • On Match Day, liaise with stadium security, fan operations, CARE Team, SVM and SHR central team to respond and assist with resolution of issues or complaints related to anti-discrimination and safeguarding.
  • Provide case management reports to the Stadium SHR Venue Manager for concerns related to children or adults under the FWC26 Stadium Code of Conduct, FIFA’s Safeguarding & Anti-discrimination Code of Conduct (Accredited Individuals) & FIFA’s Code of Ethics.

Anti-Discrimination Programme Implementation

  • Support venue-level implementation of the FWC26 Anti-Discrimination Policy, including:
  • Support the CARE Team in conflict awareness and rapid engagement.
  • Support the readiness of PSA Security regarding the identification of (non-) offensive, (non-)political and (non-) discriminatory fan material.
  • Perform a check of all fan materials inside the stadium bowl and alert SVM and security personnel of alleged political, offensive and/or discriminatory flags, banners, posters or other fan material.

Safeguarding Programme Implementation

Support Venue-level Implementation Of The FWC26 Safeguarding Plan Including

  • Collaboration with Safety & Security teams to implement Lost or Missing Children Policy and Procedures.
  • To identify, prevent and / or mitigate safeguarding risks during the matchday.
  • Respond to reports of safeguarding incidents or concerns and coordinate actions in line with Stadium procedures.

Case Management

  • Input information into the case management systems for victims of harassment, abuse, trafficking, or other welfare concerns (e.g., missing children).
  • Work with SVM to coordinate referrals out to statutory authorities in host cities as required.
  • Submit report to SVM for notification to FWC26 SHR Team of all reports relating to Safeguarding and Anti-discrimination.

Education & Qualifications

  • Qualifications in safeguarding, human rights or public protection or demonstrable knowledge and practical experience in a related occupation.

Work Experience

  • Minimum requirements:
  • Demonstrable practical experience in the field of security, public protection, human rights, civil rights, anti-discrimination and safeguarding.
  • Communication skills and experience in working in multi-cultural environments.
  • Knowledge on how to recognize behaviors that are discriminatory and harmful to children and adults and understanding the impact of abusive behavior;
  • Ability to work professionally, confidentially and consistently in an area where emotionally distressing and sensitive issues and cases may arise.
  • Knowledge about the Host Cities legal and socio-cultural context, government guidelines and national frameworks on anti-discrimination and safeguarding;
  • Clear understanding of the protective service roles and responsibilities of statutory authorities/agencies in the Host Cities;
  • Experience and clear understanding of confidentiality in potentially distressing survivor-centered, trauma-informed case management and referrals to relevant authorities/agencies in the Host Cities.

Languages

  • Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus

Technology

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
