About Us:

Fierce Fire Protection Services, LLC is a small Alaska owned company that predominantly serves the Southcentral Alaska region. This means that you won’t spend as much time on the road as you would with other companies (though some travel would still be required). We also pride ourselves on a more modern and flexible workplace. Our focus is on providing quality (over quantity) services for our customers in all aspects of life safety systems. These include Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler, Special Hazard Suppression, Fire Extinguisher, Emergency lighting, Gas Detection, and other low voltage systems. Additionally, we hold an electrical administrator license to be able to provide associated high voltage work as well.

Job Description and Duties:

We are looking for qualified candidates that have experience in the fire sprinkler and suppression aspect of these systems. Candidates would be field technicians required to be self sufficient, self motivated, and detail oriented in performing installations, service, and inspections of these system.

  • Must be capable of performing installations, service calls, and inspections with minimal guidance or oversight as qualifications allow. And possess the technical prowess and communication skills to do so confidently and effectively.
  • Must be quality and detail oriented. We do not believe in rushing our services and we plan accordingly to go above and beyond those that do. Performing these services requires the ability to organize your in person and digital life to a high degree as we perform a lot of tasks on a laptop and smart-phone.
  • Must be capable of managing your assigned jobs from start to finish. Examples include: performing inspections, completing reports, presenting findings to customers, and completing repairs. Performing initial service calls and needed follow-ups to complete repairs. Gathering materials for an installation project, performing installation, providing system programming, scheduling final inspection, and completing compliance documentation for job closeout.
  • Must possess a decent knowledge of IBC, IFC, NFPA 13 and 25, and local codes and the ability to navigate these resources as needed.
  • Typical work week will be 5 8-hour-days or 4 10-hour-days, but can fluctuate based on work/project load.

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Must have two years or more experience in the fire sprinkler trades or a related field.
  • Must have or be capable of attaining a State of Alaska IIB license within 6 months.
  • Must have or be willing to pass a NICET II certification.
  • Will be required to attain various manufacturer factory certifications as needed.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of a desktop operating system and office software suite.
  • Must be proficient in evaluating system drawings, schematics, code books, and technical documentation to perform your job duties.
  • Must be proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic/test equipment.

Secondary Qualifications:

  • Must pass criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Must be willing to occasionally travel out of town with sufficient notice.
  • Must have a willingness to be flexible with your job duties and willing to help out our other technicians as needed in unrelated trades on rare occasions.
  • Must be safety oriented and willing to address any violations you observe as soon as possible.
