Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in delivering lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.
- Support children’s learning and development by implementing individualized strategies based on their IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and specific needs.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment by applying behavior management techniques and promoting positive interactions among students.
- Help manage classroom routines, transitions, and activities to ensure a safe, organized, and engaging learning space.
- Provide direct care for children, including toddler care, preschool activities, and Montessori-based approaches when applicable.
- Collaborate with educators on lesson planning, curriculum development, and assessment strategies to enhance student progress.
- Support students with developmental disabilities or autism through tailored interventions and sensory activities.
- Maintain clear communication with parents and specialists regarding student progress and behavior.
- Contribute to a positive school culture that values diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in early childhood education or preschool settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques is essential.
- Experience supporting students with special needs, including those with autism or developmental disabilities, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with IEP implementation and accommodations for students with disabilities is desirable.
- Proficiency in teaching methods such as Montessori or literacy education enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Strong communication skills are necessary to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and specialists.
- Previous private school experience or classroom experience in diverse educational environments will be considered a plus.
