What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cashier/Customer Service position at Fieldgate Cheese Store?
We are looking for fun, energetic and eager individuals to join us at the Fieldgate Cheese Store in Litchfield!
The Customer Service Associate performs customer service, sales transactions and assists visitors with product selection to support company operations and maximize company revenue and profitability. The schedule of this position will typically be 3:30pm-6pm weekdays, and 10:00am-2:00pm weekends, working on average 10-15 hours per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform customer service-related duties; providing product knowledge, assisting with selections, processing order pick up, process returns and answering questions.
- Process sales transactions for payment for purchased company products. Utilize Four-Square POS system to process payments (cash, credit, or check) and ensure inventory management.
- Performs receiving and unpacking of shipped product identifying and rectifying problems and ensuring that correct items and quantities have been received.
- Stocks shelves and cold cooler displays when inventory is low, face shelving and help stage the store displays and product offerings at the direction of the Store Manager.
- Create and package orders for gift boxes or large orders for pick up. Process shipping related documents to insure accurate and timely filing of shipping documentation.
- Perform general sanitation duties like mopping, wiping shelves, cleaning bathrooms, washing windows and dusting.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma.
- Requires at least one (1) year of customer service experience.
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees, customers, and vendors.
- Requires the ability to use an online POS system.
- Requires learning about products for sale in the store to assist customer selections.
- It is desirable for the incumbent to have conflict resolution skills.
