Job Summary
The Maintenance and Calibration Technician will provide corrective and preventive maintenance for a GMP Radioligand Therapies Production Facility, ensuring reliable and efficient operation of equipment and building systems. This role supports ongoing production, site goals, and compliance with all regulatory, corporate, and safety requirements. Shift assignment (1st or 2nd) will be determined following onboarding and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair on production equipment, lab systems, and building management systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, HVAC, and utility system issues.
- Interpret P&IDs, layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications to plan maintenance activities.
- Support 24/7 operations, including startup, commissioning, and customer service needs.
- Maintain and calibrate radiation detection and safety equipment.
- Document all work accurately in CMMS and provide technical data for spare parts.
- Write/revise SOPs, training documents, and maintenance procedures.
- Assist with investigations, deviations, and CAPAs from a maintenance/engineering perspective.
- Provide training and guidance to junior or new technicians.
- Follow Novartis Quality Policies to ensure product safety and compliance with GMP, OSHA, FDA, and other regulations.
Requirements
- High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a regulated GMP environment.
- Pharmaceutical, medical device, aseptic fill/finish, or radiopharmacy experience preferred.
- Training in handling radioactive or hazardous materials a plus.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Proficient with MS Office, Building Management Systems, and CMMS.
- Physically able to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in protective clothing/cleanroom environments.
- Flexible availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
