What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Physical Therapy Assistant position at Field of Dreams Inc?
Field of Dreams provides center-based childcare services for children ages 2.9 to 5 years old with and without special needs in both an integrated and non-integrated preschool setting.
Qualifications
Associates Degree from an accredited program
1 year pediatric experience preferred. New Graduates will be considered
NYS Physical Therapy Assistant License (Required)
32.5 hr work week with PTO/Sick time, health benefits, 401K, Aflac & dependent care.
In addition to the preschool curriculum, children receive center-based physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy
Responsibilities
The PTA is responsible for the remediation of children with a wide range of disabilities/delays
Areas addressed include gross motor skills, safety and body awareness.
The PTA will utilize a variety of strategies including strengthen, balance and adaptive techniques to help students reach their maximum potential
The PTA contributes goals to the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) and will work on these target objectives throughout the school year
The PTA will provide quality individual sessions in person while working at our center-based program.
The PTA will provide direct physical therapy services to students as per their IEP mandates
The PTA will develop treatment plans to achieve identified goals
The PTA will adhere to applicable principles and practices of occupational therapy, APTA policies/procedures, and state regulations
The PTA will work collaboratively with SLPs, OT’s, school psychologists, behavioral team, and classroom staff as needed to provide positive treatment outcomes
The PTA will work effectively with parents, teaching staff and other professionals directly involved in the care and treatment of the child to develop and monitor IEP services
The PTA will complete all necessary paperwork accurately and timely (e.g., daily session notes, quarterly progress reports, annual reviews, etc.)
The PTA will participate in meetings and consultations with education staff and the multidisciplinary team concerning the needs of each child as related to his/her mandated services and progress updates
