Role Description The Packaging & Foam Fabrication Technician is responsible for designing and manufacturing custom wooden crates and boxes, as well as fabricating precision foam inserts for aerospace and Department of Defense (DoD) components. This role ensures products are properly protected for storage and shipment while meeting strict aerospace quality and handling requirements.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability in packing and handling products safely and efficiently, with attention to detail in presentation and protection.
- Experience or aptitude in packaging design and packaging engineering to interpret specifications and assist in developing protective solutions.
- Knowledge of quality control practices, including inspection, documentation, and compliance with company standards and procedures.
- Research skills to support evaluation of materials, methods, and improvements in packaging and foam fabrication processes.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, work instructions, and measurement tools (e.g., tape measures, calipers).
- Comfort with using hand tools and operating basic fabrication equipment in a manufacturing or workshop environment.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to manage time and tasks in a fast-paced production setting.
- Commitment to health and safety practices and the ability to follow established protocols and guidelines.
- Experience operating foam cutting or CNC equipment preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; previous experience in packaging, fabrication, or manufacturing is beneficial.
