Entry Level Accountant

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Accountant to join our finance team. This is a full time in office accounting position based in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop foundational accounting skills while supporting various financial operations across our organization. As an integral part of our team, you will assist with financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance activities, gaining valuable experience in corporate accounting practices. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, possesses strong analytical skills, and demonstrates a passion for accuracy and integrity in financial management.

Responsibilities

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
• Assist with the reconciliation, processing and payment of State Sales and Use Tax (24 states).
• Support account reconciliation processes including general ledger accounts, bank statements, and subsidiary ledgers such as accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Enter and review journal entries using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to ensure accurate financial data.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
• Help maintain the accuracy of the company's financial records through double entry bookkeeping and ledger management.
• Develop a solid understanding of financial concepts such as accrual accounting, debits & credits, and account analysis to enhance your technical accounting skills.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or in final semester of completion).
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP and double entry bookkeeping.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas).
• Eagerness to learn new tools and processes quickly.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
• Prior internship or entry-level experience in public or corporate accounting is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for professional growth is essential.
