Responsibilities
The Metalwork Finisher / Shop Helper works closely with senior management and fellow team members to ensure the successful completion of every project by:
- Visually inspecting parts for scratches, defects, and overall quality.
- Preparing metal surfaces for finishing processes.
- Operating grinders and finishing equipment to remove excess material and prepare products for final finishing.
- Assisting with specialty paint, patina, and other decorative finishing techniques.
- Completing finishing processes while maintaining our high quality standards.
- Taking photographs of completed products prior to packaging and posting them to Slack.
- Safely packaging products for shipment, ensuring they are properly protected and secured for transportation.
- Completing Delivery/Packing Slips for all materials leaving the shop.
- Making accurate deliveries to vendors and customers while representing Fidler Furniture Company in a professional manner.
- Taking photographs of completed deliveries and posting them to Slack before leaving the job site.
- Keeping shop tools, supplies, materials, and samples organized.
- Assisting fabricators and other team members wherever needed to help projects stay on schedule.
- Troubleshooting work-related issues and helping identify practical solutions.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Following all safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE provided by the company.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds and moving materials safely throughout the shop.
- Willingness to help out wherever needed to ensure on-time project deliveries.
- Pass a comprehensive background check. This is crucial for deliveries to our customer's homes/businesses.

Compensation
Starting Pay:
$18–$20 per hour, based on experience.
