Clearance Requirements: National Background Check with Inquiries, Fingerprints, and Drug Screen.
Estimated Period of Performance: One 12-month base ordering period from the time of award, plus four 12-month option ordering periods, for up to five years.
Type of Employment: In-person, 30 hours per week.
Estimated Total Compensation: $41.38/hour
Paid Federal Holidays: Eleven (11) Paid Federal Holidays
PTO and Sick Leave: Included
Working Hours
The Radiological Technician will typically work six [6] one (1) hour sessions per day, 3 days per week, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will be between 0730 and 1400 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The Radiological Technician shall not normally exceed 30 hours per week. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution.
Qualifications
The Radiological Technician will perform diagnostic radiographic examinations by operating imaging equipment, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and ensuring patient safety in accordance with established medical, radiation safety, and correctional facility standards. They will maintain imaging records, radiology equipment, and daily clinic operations while providing professional patient care and supporting clinical staff.
Attire
The Radiological Technician is expected to wear professional clothing while on duty (scrub uniforms are approved). The attire worn shall also be appropriate for the correctional environment in which the contract employee will be performing.

- Must be certified to perform radiological imaging in the State of Kansas.
- Must have at least three (3) or more years of experience.
- Must provide proof of malpractice insurance, as required by the Joint Commission

Duties And Responsibilities
- Receive and verify patient identification prior to imaging procedures.
- Explain imaging procedures and properly position patients for diagnostic examinations.
- Operate radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Follow radiation safety standards and infection control protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Perform routine operational checks and report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate imaging records, documentation, and patient information.
- Coordinate daily radiology clinic operations and patient scheduling.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare personnel regarding imaging procedures and results.
- Comply with Bureau of Prisons policies, institutional procedures, and applicable clinical standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect sensitive medical information.
- Provide professional, impartial patient care while maintaining appropriate communication within a correctional healthcare environment.
