The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to critically ill and medically complex patients. The RN is responsible for performing comprehensive assessments, closely monitoring patient conditions, administering critical medications and treatments, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

The RN is responsible for performing comprehensive assessments, closely monitoring patient conditions, administering critical medications and treatments, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuous monitoring.
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and critical-care treatments.
Manage ventilators, central lines, arterial lines, and other critical-care equipment.
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
Assist with emergency procedures and patient stabilization.
Educate and support patients and their families.
Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
Complete timely and accurate documentation.
Follow all patient-safety and infection-prevention standards.
EMR: EPIC
Qualifications
Active, unencumbered Illinois RN license.
Current American Heart Association BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS certifications.
Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience.
Critical-care certification preferred.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, prioritization, and time-management skills.
