Dialysis Registered Nurse Job
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The Dialysis RN is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment for renal failure. This role includes patient assessment, treatment planning, monitoring during dialysis, patient education, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments and obtain medical history before dialysis treatment.
- Monitor and document patient vitals, dialysis access sites, and responses during treatment.
- Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Administer medications and IV therapy as needed.
- Collaborate with nephrologists and other care team members to develop individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about kidney disease management, treatment plans, and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
- Ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and properly maintained.
- Comply with infection control, safety protocols, and other regulatory guidelines.
- Respond to emergency situations and follow code procedures when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN license in State.
- ADN or BSN degree from an accredited nursing program.
- CPR certification (ACLS preferred).
- Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience (Dialysis experience preferred but not required).
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using dialysis machines and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and kidney disease management.
- Certification in Nephrology Nursing (CNN) or Dialysis Nursing (CDN) is a plus.
