Job Description: The funeral director manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all daily activities related to the funeral home and its staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in all daily activities at the funeral home, including but not limited to arrangements, services, and removals as needed
- Counsel with and coordinate arrangements with families and other third parties to carry out selected funeral, cremation and cemetery services with care and compassion
- Perform embalming of decedent and cosmetology according to industry standards and practices, technical, safety and sanitary requirements
- Develop and maintain the necessary knowledge to explain the benefits, present all options and assist with the selection of all products and services offered to families
- Execute and finalize all financial arrangements for purchases of merchandise and services selected by families, including securing payment in accordance with company policy
- Assist with conducting, set up and preparation of visitations, funeral and memorial services
- Participate in training and other market-wide initiatives to enhance FMG’s presence in the market and shared resources efforts
- Follow all administrative policies and procedures related to the deceased, and ensure that all required paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain necessary licensure and/or other certification to meet any local, state, or federal regulations
- Maintain knowledge of applicable company policies and procedures, and ensure that they are carried out at all times
- Assist in transferring of cremated remains and packaging and preparation of urns/keepsakes according to industry best practices
- Participate in the general upkeep of the building, grounds and cars, including light housekeeping to keep the facilities and grounds in perfect order. This includes keeping work areas tidy, picking up litter on the grounds and general straightening up as needed
- Participate in community activities to enhance the standing of the Funeral Home and its reputation
- Take on additional or new responsibilities and tasks as assigned by your supervisor

- Supervise and train employees to create a productive and positive work environment
- Support with scheduling, training, performance improvements, value creation plan
Requirements:
- 5 years in a similar role or higher
- Posses or ability to obtain valid and active Georgia Funeral Director and Embalmer license
- Drivers license with clean record
- Ability to be the Funeral Director in Charge
- Outstanding leadership capabilities and demonstrated ability to lead from the front
- Excellence in the ability to conduct all aspects of funeral directing and embalming
