Position Description: 

 

Drives projects to deliver discreet analyses or research, assess problem areas, and provide solutions. Conducts primary and secondary research by leading expert interviews and by analyzing regulatory filings, industry publications, and publicly available information. Creates financial models and projections using Microsoft Excel. Provides business insights and recommendations by locating, cleaning, validating, transforming, and analyzing data using Microsoft Excel, STATA, SQL, and R. Provides statistical analysis by building mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters. Plans work for and reviews work ofconsulting analysts. Project manages by coordinating work of IT professionals, business operators, and managers. Develops high-level frameworks, recommendations, implementation plans, and roadmaps by collaborating with internal business leaders and subject matter experts across the enterprise. Finds, assesses, and develops opportunities for innovation and growth. Creates presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint to communicate solutions on an immediate and ongoing basis, and to synthesize findings for business executives. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Works on and supports multiple cross-team initiatives by collaborating with management across business units.  

  • Leads teams on projects by planning work, setting goals, and proposing project ideas.  

  • Finds, assesses, and develops opportunities for innovation and growth.  

  • Analyzes information obtained from management to conceptualize and define operational problems.  

  • Gathers and organizes information on problems or procedures.  

  • Analyzes gathered data and develops solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.  

  • Performs market research and competitor analysis.  

  • Builds financial models and projections.  

  • Conducts and synthesizes expert interviews with internal and external SMEs.  

  • Directs and coordinates data and research teams to pull, clean, and analyze data.  

  • Documents findings of studies.  

  • Prepares recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizationalchanges 

  • Provides objective and fact-based advice to executives on complex business issues.  

  • Prepares and delivers presentations to executive audiences, including results of mathematical modeling and data analysis, as well as visualizations of data, processes, findings, and options. 

  • Communicates findings and influences internal executives and stakeholders.   

  • Contributes to project decision making by providing insights and presenting findings.  

  • Develops strategic frameworks, insights, and solutions.  

  • Project manages engineers, technical experts, and business operators.  

  • Drives internal group initiatives. 

 

Education and Experience: 

 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Administration, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Information Management, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Director, Fidelity Consulting (or closely related occupation) executing advanced financial or statistical analysis 

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Business Administration, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Information Management, or a closely related field and two (2) years of experience as a Director, Fidelity Consulting (or closely related occupation) executing advanced financial or statistical analysis. 

 

Skills and Knowledge: 

 

Candidate must also possess: 

 

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) building financial models to benchmark company or product performance in an asset management environment, using Microsoft Excel; and gathering financial data for further financial analysis, using Morningstar, Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, or CRSP. 

  • DE conducting and coordinating advanced data analyses -- gathering, structuring, cleansing, regularizing, manipulating, and processing large data sets -- by engineering data features and transforming or mapping data, using R, STATA, SAS, or SQL; developing, implementing, and maintaining databases for further analysis, using Microsoft Excel, R , STATA, SAS, or SQL; applying advanced statistical or econometric techniques to analyze data trends/patterns and resolve specific business and organizational inquires -- using R, STATA, or SAS. 

  • DE illustrating resolutions to specific business or organizational inquiries by visualizing data in R, Excel or STATA; and identifying resolutions to specific business or organizational inquiries by building predictive models using R, STATA, or SAS. 

  • DE providing strategic business or organizational recommendations by conducting and synthesizing primary (expert interviews) and secondary (SEC filings and industry/public press)research using financial data vendors or platforms – SEC EDGAR, Morningstar, Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, or CRSP; and informing and influencing strategic business decisions by preparing reports and presentations for executive audiences using PowerPoint.
