Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring efficient meal preparation and service.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate nutritional needs, medical conditions, and patient preferences.
- Conduct patient assessments to determine dietary requirements, including specialized needs such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluations.
- Oversee menu planning to ensure balanced nutrition while accommodating dietary restrictions and cultural preferences.
- Manage dietary staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards of care.
- Ensure compliance with all health regulations, safety protocols, and sanitation standards within the dietary department.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to adjust care plans based on patient progress and evolving health conditions.
- Monitor budgeting processes for the dietary department, optimizing resource allocation without compromising quality of service.
Experience
- Prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or healthcare settings with a focus on nutrition management.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience leading dietary or nutrition teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of physiology related to digestion, metabolism, and nutritional science.
- Practical experience in patient assessment, including evaluating nutritional status and implementing care plans.
- Familiarity with tube feeding procedures and diagnostic evaluation processes related to nutrition therapy.
- Proven ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining high standards of service delivery.
- Background in dietetics or nutrition sciences, with relevant certifications preferred but not mandatory.
