The Actuarial Associate contributes to regulatory projection and reporting efforts, including Cash Flow Testing, C3 Phase I, and related reserve adequacy analyses. They run projection models, assist with model enhancements, perform detailed analyses, and support process improvement initiatives. This position is a part of the Actuarial Education Program and provides exam support and rotation opportunities for the candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate actuarial projections using GGY AXIS modeling software.
- Prepare data for use in actuarial models and execute controls on model inputs, outputs, and process.
- Manage model output and assist in analysis of results.
- Create and maintain process documentation.
- Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to align efforts and drive successful outcomes.
- Actively engage in continuous improvements for both process and reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related technical field
- 5 or more actuarial exams or modules passed required
- 1 years experience required
- Life insurance and annuity knowledge preferred.
- Exposure to GGY AXIS or similar actuarial modeling system preferred.
- Demonstrate ability to apply actuarial principles to complex situations
- Ability to learn and utilize actuarial software systems
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills that include advanced analytical and reasoning abilities
- Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and can operate efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments
- Must be extremely detail oriented, analytical and be able to handle multiple projects
- Team player who can function as a key member of a small group
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Perform other functions, duties, and projects as assigned.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Minimal travel required (less than 10%).
