Compressed Air Field Service Technician

Fidelity Building Services Group
Merrimack, NH Full Time
POSTED ON 7/9/2026 CLOSED ON 8/5/2026

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compressed Air Field Service Technician position at Fidelity Building Services Group?

Compressed Air Field Service Technician

Compressor Energy Services (CES) part of Fidelity Building Services Group  |  Northeast (MA / southern NH)  |  Full-time, non-exempt (up to $40 hourly depending on experience)

About the role

CES keeps customers compressed-air systems running, and the field service technician is the person who makes that real. You’re in the field every day — performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing and repairing compressors, dryers, and air-system equipment, and responding when a customer goes down. The techs are the face of CES, and the service you deliver is what earns the next agreement.

What you’ll do

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on air compressors — rotary screw, reciprocating, and oil-free — along with dryers, filters, controls, and related air-system equipment.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and air-system problems in the field, and respond to reactive and emergency service calls.

  • Install and commission compressors, dryers, piping, and ancillary equipment.

  • Use a phone or tablet to document each visit — before-and-after photos, work performed, parts used, and recommendations — and clearly explain to the customer what was done and what’s coming next.

  • Spot additional needs — leaks, pressure drops, failing components — and flag them so they become the next job.

  • Keep your service vehicle, tools, and parts stocked and ready.

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a strong safety record.

The team behind you

You won’t be out there alone. CES has a lead technician and trainer to bring you up to speed, an applications and engineering team for system sizing and the tougher technical calls, and a coordinator handling scheduling and parts so you can stay focus on the work. We believe in developing our people toward their own goals — whatever direction you want to grow, we’ll help you build the skills to get there.

What we’re looking for

  • Hands-on experience servicing compressed-air systems, industrial machinery, HVAC, or comparable mechanical equipment.

  • Solid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting — comfortable with hand tools, gauges, and diagnostics.

  • Able to read schematics and equipment manuals.

  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record — you’re in the field every day.

  • Able to lift and move equipment and work in plant and mechanical-room environments.
