Server (Seasonal or Full Time - Casual, Fast Paced Dining)

As a Server at Fiddler’s Elbow, you are a primary ambassador of our club’s culture. In our refined yet comfortable dining environment, you will do more than take orders, you will curate personalized experiences for our members and their guests. This role demands a high level of emotional intelligence, a passion for culinary excellence, and the grace to manage a fast-paced floor with poise. You will be instrumental in fostering the sense of "home away from home" that defines the Fiddler’s Elbow reputation.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide a warm, sophisticated welcome; anticipate member needs before they are articulated to ensure a seamless dining journey.
• Possess an expert-level understanding of the menu, ingredients, and daily features, offering thoughtful recommendations and beverage pairings.
• Execute flawless order entry and table service, ensuring every dish is presented with attention to detail and timing.
• Build lasting rapport with members, recognizing preferences and celebrating milestones to drive long-term loyalty.
• Maintain an immaculate dining environment and collaborate effortlessly with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure a synchronized service flow.
• Navigate guest feedback with diplomacy and a "yes-first" mentality, escalating concerns only when necessary to ensure total satisfaction.

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a high-volume, hospitality-forward environment is preferred.
• Physical stamina to maintain high energy levels throughout an active shift.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Distinguishing Qualifications:

• Prior experience with high-end POS systems and sophisticated table management software.
• A foundational understanding of beverage service and food safety protocols.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to adapt service styles to the unique temperament of each guest.
• Flexibility to support the community during peak times, including evenings, weekends, and holiday celebrations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods (typically 6–8 hours) while maintaining a polished and energetic demeanor.
• Service Agility: Capably navigate a high-activity dining room while carrying large service trays or heavy objects (up to 30 lbs) with precision and grace.
• Proficient use of both hands and arms for intricate tasks, such as tableside wine service, handling delicate glassware, and utilizing Jonas or similar POS systems.
• Comfort with frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and kneeling to perform essential tasks like resetting tables or maintaining station organization.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to transition seamlessly between refined indoor dining rooms and scenic outdoor terrace or pool environments.
• Preparedness for varied temperatures, including the warmth of professional kitchens and outdoor exposure during peak summer or cooler evening events.
• Resilience in a fast-paced setting where multitasking and time management are critical to meeting the high expectations of an exclusive membership.
• Commitment to a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays to support the club's signature social calendar and member traditions.
