*This position is located on the island of Oahu and candidates must work in the state of Hawaii upon hire*

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Investigate, evaluate and proactively resolve personal and commercial auto claims
  • Determines eligibility, coverage, and obtains appropriate documentation to process payments of claims
  • Responds promptly to inquiries from claimants, insureds, agents, and other interested parties
  • Timely and appropriate documentation of first and third party damages, dispatch appraisal assignments.

Qualifications / Experience:

Claims Trainee:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience in customer service, investigative or insurance
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate good customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Basic proficiency of MS Office applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills
  • Able to adapt to changing circumstances

Adjuster I: (along with the above qualifications):

  • Minimum 1 years claims adjusting experience, preferably in Auto
  • Familiarity with claims systems such as Guidewire and ImageRight
  • Strong investigation and decision-making abilities, including developing effective action plans for claims resolutions
  • Demonstrated capability to manage complex and disputed liability claims
  • Working knowledge of personal and commercial lines insurance including the ability to interpret policy language and determine applicability of insurance coverage
  • Knowledge of automotive repair methods and terminology and able to evaluate repair estimates
  • Knowledge of vehicle transfer procedures

Adjuster II: (along with the above qualifications):

  • Minimum 3 years of Personal and Commercial auto claims handling experience, preferably in Hawaii
  • Strong decision‑making skills with the ability to identify significant exposures and coverage issues, including when to prepare formal correspondence and escalate matters to management.
  • Ability to interpret and apply all lines of auto insurance policies

Additional Qualifications Preferred:

  • Current Hawaii State Adjuster’s License preferred

Salary:

$53,650 to $68,650 annually

Salary offer is based on a number of factors such as job-related knowledge , skills and experience. Our company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
