As a Personal Banker, you will help individuals and businesses open and manage accounts, find the right financial solutions, and complete important banking requests. You will build lasting relationships by asking thoughtful questions, giving accurate guidance, and connecting customers with resources across the bank.
We welcome candidates with a range of retail banking experience. The position may be filled internally as a Personal Banker II or III based on account-opening experience, banking knowledge, lending exposure, and ability to handle more complex customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with new and existing customers by learning their personal or business banking needs.
- Open and maintain consumer and business deposit accounts, gathering required documentation and explaining account requirements and bank policies.
- Process account maintenance requests and financial transactions accurately.
- Recommend products, services, and digital banking tools that fit each customer’s needs.
- Connect customers with specialists in lending, mortgage, treasury management, wealth management, and other areas of the bank.
- Verify customer identification, follow fraud-prevention procedures, and protect confidential customer and bank information.
- Resolve routine account questions and research more complex service issues.
- Complete documentation in line with bank policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Support branch operations and transactional responsibilities when needed.
- For more experienced candidates, assist with consumer loan requests and help ensure accounts and loans are processed without technical, policy, or regulatory exceptions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous customer service and cash-handling experience required.
- Experience opening consumer or business accounts at a bank, credit union, or financial institution preferred.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and clearly explain banking products, services, and requirements.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds; work regularly involves standing, walking, sitting, speaking, hearing, reaching, and using a computer or other banking equipment.
