Position Overview:
The Assistant Demold Lead Technician supports the Demold Lead in coordinating day-to-day activities within the Demold Department. This role involves mentoring and assisting less experienced technicians, reinforcing proper procedures, and promoting a safe, clean, and respectful work environment. The Assistant Demold Lead Technician helps ensure all composite components are properly demolded, molds are maintained and stored correctly, and departmental efficiency is sustained. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example while communicating effectively with both team members and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Lead with introducing and rolling out new parts to team members
  • Support the Lead in mentoring, training, and developing less experienced Demold Technicians in:
    • Demolding fundamentals
    • Mold cleaning
    • Mold storage practices
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and promote a positive, respectful work environment
  • Reinforce proper procedures and best practices at all times, including adherence to all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documented quality standards.
  • Offer constructive feedback and guidance when reviewing techniques and work output
  • Notify the Lead, Supervisor, or Manager of:
    • Any discrepancies in process or output
    • Improper behaviors or conduct
    • Safety violations or concerns
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including consistent use of required PPE
  • Reinforce cleaning standards and organizational practices across work areas
  • Contribute suggestions for improving efficiency and workflow
  • Responsible for daily GSS (Global Shop Solutions) system balancing
  • Attend morning production meetings when covering for the Department Lead
  • Create and maintain the daily priority schedule based on production scheduling needs, ensuring workflow alignment and timely completion of departmental tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including the full scope of Principal Demold Accountabilities

Principal Demold Accountabilities:

  • Safely remove composite components from bagging and molds
  • Clean, prepare, assemble, and store molds properly
  • Use hand and power tools for part processing and mold maintenance
  • Handle baked resin removal and apply proper release systems
  • Coordinate tasks based on Production Supervisor's established priorities
  • Perform under pressure to meet deadlines and production goals
  • Provide feedback on manufacturing best practices
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
  • Memorize part names, customer associations, and specific demolding requirements
  • Open autoclaves and safely unload cured parts
  • Support cross-functional needs and assist in other departments to maintain workflow
  • Perform all other duties as required in the Demold Technician role

What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using hand and power tools such as sanders, rivet guns, drills, routers, adhesive applicators, calipers, and gauges
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated reliability and consistent attendance
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude that contributes to a safe and productive work environment
  • Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and deliver work at an expected level of performance
  • Committed to safety protocols and able to identify and report potential hazards
  • Organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Adaptable to changing production schedules and work demands
  • Capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation, including engineering drawings, work instructions, and safety procedures
  • Willingness to take initiative, provide constructive feedback, and support performance improvement efforts across the team
  • Due to ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status

Hours of Operation:

Normal business hours: 1st Shift: 5:30AM – 2:30PM; 2nd Shift: 4:00PM – 1:00PM; Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends and holidays as scheduled by leadership.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Combination of indoor and outdoor activities with varying conditions
  • Requires walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, bending, reaching, handling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • May involve operating material handling equipment in a safe manner
  • Work may include exposure to variable noise levels, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, etc., requiring personal protective equipment
  • Some positions may require working with small parts/components, necessitating excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
