What a Research Technician will do:
The Research Technician coordinates / assists with the development and implementation of technical details for the manufacture of Fibergrate products.

Responsibilities

This includes but is not limited to raw material qualification

  • Formulation development.
  • procedural development.
  • Internal and external product testing programs.
  • Technical training.
  • RCA for product failure.
  • Technical support for field sales.
  • Regulatory analysis.
  • 3rd party certification maintenance.
  • QA analysis of incoming raw materials.
  • Raw material record keeping.
  • Maintenance of project files.

Job Knowledge you can need to bring:

  • Understand chemical laboratory safety practices and operation.
  • Understanding of DOE (design of experiment) process.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite tools and apps.
  • General knowledge of industrial safety requirements.

Qualifications / Education

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. University / college degree in a technical field (chemistry, engineering, industrial technology) preferred.
  • Work history of over 5 years in R&D or technical field within composite industry is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate in English is required; English / Spanish bilingual is preferred.

  • Ability to work safely in a chemical laboratory and industrial environment
  • Ability to operate / learn to operate laboratory equipment
  • MS 365 suite proficiency
  • Be an effective trainer
  • Communicate in a concise, clear manner.
  • Lead cross functional working groups.
  • Use positive influence to achieve goals and necessary improvement.
  • Objectively use data to drive decision making

CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, REGISTRATIONS

  • ACMA Certified Composite Technician
  • MS168 Green Belt certification (training made available upon hire)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Occasional visits to moderate noise may be required. Occasional exposure to noxious fumes and dust is required, the candidate must be capable of tolerating these non-hazardous fumes and dust.
