About Fiberconnext

At Fiberconnext, we design, install, and support critical infrastructure—from high-speed fiber optics and structured cabling to advanced security, access control, and audiovisual solutions. We pride ourselves on clean craftsmanship, reliable deployments, and seamless technology integration for commercial and residential clients.

Role Overview

Fiberconnext is seeking a skilled Technician with strong electrical experience to join our field operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing dedicated AC power circuits, EMT/PVC conduit pathways, and electrical infrastructure required to power Main Distribution Frames (MDFs), TVs, Access Control panels, and IP camera systems. You will bridge the gap between primary electrical work and low-voltage system deployment, ensuring every system has safe, reliable, and compliant power.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dedicated Circuit Installation: Run, terminate, and test dedicated electrical lines (120V/208V/240V) from electrical panels to equipment racks, MDF/IDF rooms, access control power supplies, and TV/display locations.
  • Conduit & Pathway Installation: Measure, bend, cut, and install EMT, PVC, and flexible conduit pathways in accordance with NEC standards and local building codes.
  • Low-Voltage Power Infrastructure: Install and wire power supplies, step-down transformers, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and power distribution units (PDUs) for cameras, access control hardware, and AV systems.
  • System Deployment Support: Assist in mounting and integrating low-voltage hardware, including security cameras, access control door hardware, commercial displays, and rack equipment.
  • Code Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA safety standards, and local ordinances on all job sites.
  • Troubleshooting & Testing: Use multimeters and electrical testing tools to verify proper voltage, grounding, and continuity before equipment handoff.
  • Site Management & Documentation: Read and interpret blueprints, single-line diagrams, and floor plans; maintain clear communication with project managers and field leads regarding progress and material needs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Electrical Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on commercial or residential electrical experience (Journeyman or experienced Electrical Apprentice preferred).
  • Conduit Bending Mastery: Proven expertise in bending and installing EMT/PVC conduit (offsets, saddles, 90-degree bends) neatly and efficiently.
  • Low-Voltage Familiarity: Understanding of how power integrates with MDF/IDF environments, access control power supplies (e.g., Altronix), CCTV systems, and commercial AV displays.
  • Tools & Equipment: Proficiency with hand/power tools, conduit benders, fish tapes, multimeters, and circuit analyzers.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and execute work from electrical schematics, architectural drawings, and low-voltage floor plans.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, scaffolding, or scissor lifts, and operate in overhead spaces or crawlspaces as needed.
  • Valid Driver’s License: Clean driving record and reliable transportation to job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician License (or equivalent state electrical certification).
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Basic understanding of network cabling (Cat6, fiber optics) and basic IP system concepts.
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance benefits.
  • Paid time off (PTO) and holidays.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and low-voltage certifications.
  • Company-provided specialized tools and safety gear.
