Position Overview

Fiber Works Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented OSP Engineer 1 to support fiber optic network design and AutoCAD drafting. This full-time role is ideal for candidates with CAD experience looking to grow in the telecom / fiber design (FTTx, OSP) industry.

You’ll work on construction drawings, permitting packages, and network layouts, with opportunities to gain field exposure and advance quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and support fiber optic networks (OSP, FTTx, backbone, distribution, last-mile)
• Create AutoCAD construction drawings and permitting plans
• Develop fiber maps, splice diagrams, redlines, and as-builts
• Prepare project documentation subject to customer requirements
• Utilize AutoCAD and GIS tools (ArcGIS preferred)
• Assist with site walks, field verification, and construction support
• Perform quality control review to ensure all deliverables are ready for submittal

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (technical field preferred but not required) OR equivalent CAD/drafting or telecom experience
• 1 years of CAD drafting experience (internships or school projects considered)
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Apps
• Ability to read, interpret and utilize engineering drawings and maps

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fiber optic design, OSP engineering, or FTTx networks
• Familiarity with ArcGIS and/or other GIS platforms
• Exposure to permitting, utility design, or telecom construction

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 per year
• Quarterly bonus program
• Unlimited PTO (manager approval)
