What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sandblaster 1st Shift position at FIBA Technologies, Inc.?
Job Duties:
- Shovels or pours abrasives such as metal shot of a specified grade into machine hopper.
- Masks specified areas of object to protect from abrading action.
- Turns valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive steel shot mixture flowing through nozzle.
- Starts equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive laden compressed air over surface of parts.
- Directs nozzle over surface of large parts and manipulates small parts under nozzle for specified interval.
- Examines finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Perform light equipment maintenance.
- May assist Assembly workers in the assembly of trailers, skids and ground containment units when not sandblasting.
Job Requirements:
- High school or GED education; or up to 3 months related experience and on the job training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to comprehend instructions.
- Certification in overhead crane operation and safety inspection and Hazmat.
- Must pass respirator fit test and training.
- Need to be able to lift 50 lbs and have ability to stoop, crouch, bend, climb and kneel.
