JOB TITLE: Quality Systems Coordinator
Status: Salary, Exempt
REPORTS TO: Quality Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Facilitate and maintain a certified and customer compliant quality management system (QMS). Follow set guidelines intended to reduce scrap and downtime, while improving efficiency, and meeting quality requirements.
JOB DUTIES:
· Maintaining a third party certified and customer compliant QMS.
· Development into Management representative for the quality system in Cadillac and Farmington Hills.
· Audit/measure, compile presentations, report on, and develop strategies and methodologies to improve the QMS, product quality, and company objectives.
· Internal representative of customers, driving improvements to customer satisfaction.
· Develop and revise QA procedures, control plans, instructions, and forms.
· Manage the QMS and EMSinternal audit systems.
· Work closely with all departments to ensure compliance with FIAMM, QMS, and customer specific requirements.
· Conduct and participate in meetings involving quality related issues.
· Approve all QA documents and changes to linked documents from other departments.
· Identify possible sources of product contamination and understand impact of contamination on our customers.
· Attend required management meetings to discuss plans, results, problems, and special activities.
· Maintain a clean work environment by ensuring the maintenance and process engineer teams are cleaning worksites and maintenance area. Adhere to the Environmental, Health & Safety policies to conserve energy and promote recycling.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
· Associate degree in business required or equivalent work experience.
· Four years related automotive Quality Control or Quality Assurance experience or a combination of education and experience required.
· Preferred specific training: Internal Auditor ISO 14001 & IATF 16949, statistical tools, gage capability, measurement system analysis, corrective actions, advanced product quality planning, understanding (the specified) quality system, Contamination Prevention, and ISO14001 & IATF 16949 department procedures and instructions
· Preferred specific training: basic leadership or supervisory, customer service, Excel for windows, cost of quality, quality function deployment, process review, GM quality system basics, Ford quality operating system, failure mode and effects analysis, control plans.
· Concentrated mental and visual attention required to perform complex work to very close limits of high accuracy and quality for sustained periods of time.
· Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform and make decision as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes within the limitation of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, manual, or schedule form.
· Low physical effort required consisting of standing or walking 2-3 hours, sitting 6-7 hours, rarely lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, pushing and pulling, and constant use of arms to fingers to inspect parts or tools, assist, write and type reports.
· Knowledge of, and experience with, quality systems in automotive manufacturing.
· Ability to prepare and present verbal and/or written analyses, report, and presentations to suppliers, management, third party auditors, associates, and customers.
· Available for limited travel.
· Required to wear safety glasses and hearing protection at all times on the production floor.
