Neuralynx, an FHC Company, is a leader in neuroscience research technology, providing innovative solutions that advance scientific discoveries worldwide. We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Electronics Assembler to join our team in Bozeman, Montana.

This role is responsible for assembling and testing high-quality electronic products, including printed circuit boards (PCBs), cable and wire harness assemblies, and precision electromechanical components.

The ideal candidate will have experience with electronic assembly, surface mount soldering, cable and harness fabrication, and working from schematics and assembly documentation. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

Electronics & PCB Assembly

  • Assemble printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic assemblies using documented manufacturing processes.
  • Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, engineering documentation, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Place, solder, and rework components using both Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and through-hole assembly methods.
  • Perform precision soldering under magnification when required.

Cable, Wire & Harness Assembly

  • Build and assemble cable tethers, wire harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Route, terminate, crimp, and secure wiring to ensure product reliability and quality.
  • Verify wiring configurations against assembly documentation and engineering requirements.

Inspection, Testing & Troubleshooting

  • Conduct visual inspections to verify solder quality, component placement, and workmanship.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Complete basic functional testing of assemblies and products.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and document assembly issues, defects, and repair activities.
  • Perform rework and corrective actions as required.

Quality, Inventory & Continuous Improvement

  • Assemble and track products using FHC's ERP system.
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions and material accountability.
  • Adhere to quality system requirements, manufacturing procedures, and traceability requirements.
  • Maintain product tolerances and workmanship standards.
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Print and verify product labels and documentation.

Equipment & Workspace Management

  • Properly use and maintain soldering stations, microscopes, hand tools, and assembly equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and ESD-safe workstations.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, work instructions, and Bills of Materials.
  • Experience with hand assembly of small and delicate components.
  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing documentation.
  • Expertise with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Desired

  • 1-3 years of electronics assembly or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience performing surface mount (SMT) soldering and through-hole soldering.
  • Experience with cable, tether, or wire harness assembly.
  • Experience working under microscopes or magnification equipment.
  • Familiarity with IPC J-STD-001 workmanship standards or equivalent.
  • Experience in medical device, aerospace, research instrumentation, or other precision manufacturing environments.
  • Technical certificate or coursework in electronics, manufacturing, or a related field.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to perform detailed assembly work requiring fine motor skills.
  • Ability to distinguish small components, colors, markings, and assembly details.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, and repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to work for extended periods using microscopes or magnification equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

  • ESD-controlled production areas.
  • Work involves precision soldering, cable assembly, inspection, testing, prototype builds, repair work, and customer-specific production assemblies.
  • Requires strong focus, steady hands, and adherence to detailed work instructions and quality standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
