Position Summary: The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions for both permanent and temporary employees, ensuring compliance with labor laws, fostering a positive work environment, and supporting the strategic goals of the organization. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage a high volume of HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, and HR policy development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies for both permanent and temporary positions, collaborating closely with staffing agencies for temporary workforce needs.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, and offer management.
- Oversee a comprehensive onboarding program for all new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the company culture.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances, providing guidance and resolution in a fair and consistent manner.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment through proactive communication and employee engagement initiatives.
- Performance Management:
- Administer and support the company's performance management system, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback processes.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees on performance-related issues.
- Develop and implement disciplinary actions when necessary, ensuring compliance with company policy and legal standards.
- Compensation & Benefits:
- Assist in the administration of compensation programs, including salary benchmarking and annual reviews.
- Oversee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks, for both permanent and eligible temporary staff.
- HR Policy & Compliance:
- Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures in alignment with company objectives and legal requirements (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA).
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, particularly those pertaining to temporary staffing.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Training & Development:
- Identify training needs and coordinate relevant training programs for employees and managers.
- Support professional development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Temporary Workforce Management:
- Act as the main liaison with staffing agencies, managing contracts, service level agreements, and performance of temporary staff.
- Monitor and manage the temporary workforce to ensure optimal staffing levels and cost efficiency.
- Address any HR-related issues specific to temporary employees, in collaboration with staffing partners.
- HR Reporting & Analytics:
- Prepare HR reports and analyze data to identify trends, inform decision-making, and measure HR program effectiveness.
- Manage HRIS (Human Resources Information System) data integrity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2-3 years in a management role.
- Proven experience managing HR functions in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally within printing or direct mail.
- Demonstrated experience working with a significant temporary workforce (e.g., through staffing agencies).
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Reporting Structure: This position will report directly to the Director of Human Resources.
