What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator/ Maintenance Technician position at FGP Manufacturing?
Technician to operate and maintain industrial food processing equipment in our frozen novelty production facility. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands machinery, troubleshoots problems quickly, and takes ownership of equipment uptime and product quality.
SCHEDULEMonday through Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Four 10-hour shifts)One shift operation
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Operate and monitor commercial-grade popsicle production machines
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment
Identify mechanical issues and implement repairs to minimize downtime
Maintain quality standards on finished products
Coordinate with production staff to meet daily output targets
Document production data and equipment performance
Follow food safety and sanitation protocols
Suggest process improvements based on operational experience
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills- Experience operating or maintaining industrial equipment (food processing, HVAC, refrigeration, manufacturing, or similar)
Ability to read technical manuals and diagrams
Problem-solving mindset, not afraid to dig into how machines work- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
Willingness to learn our specific equipment systems
Basic computer skills helpful but not required- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
NICE TO HAVE- Food manufacturing or beverage production experience- Refrigeration or HVAC background- Equipment maintenance certification- Supervisory or leadership experience
