Overview

The Filler Operator is responsible for understanding and following all assigned tasks and abiding by all safety requirements for the following machines: Palletizer, Depositor, Oven Operator, Schubert, Icing, Arpac, Metal Detector, Tray/Box Former, and Label Operator.  They are responsible for operating their equipment as per their training as well as maintaining the cleanliness and material requirements for their specified piece of equipment.

Shift: 3rd shift, Monday-Friday 10:50pm-7:00am; weekends as needed

Hourly Rate: $24.00 per hour $1 per hour shift differential between 6:00pm and 6:00am

Responsibilities

• During downtimes maintain the surrounding area by cleaning the floors and disposing of waste in appropriate receptacles.
• Clean the machines and conveyors at the end of the shift.
• Clean the floors and dispose of waste in appropriate receptacles at the end of the shift.

• Operates machinery or equipment as trained and instructed following safety guidelines at all times.
• Assists in preparing for shift production.
• Work closely with the rest of the team and become knowledgeable of the mechanics and operation of the machine in use.

• Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s)
• Any and all food safety programs.
• Any and all safety programs.

• Utilizes understanding of the production line to troubleshoot process/packaging problems.
• When possible, troubleshoots causes of customer issues or production problems and collaborates with other departments to provide efficient and effective resolution.

• Communicate problems or issues that are occurring on the production floor to the production management team.
• Work and communicate with other departments on production issues or concerns.

• Advise the Production Leader when opportunities exist to improve the production line.
• As needed or as opportunities arise, work with Quality or Production management on programs related to SPC, Lean Manufacturing, 6’s and other quality tools.

• Take on additional responsibilities and consistently demonstrate problem solving skills in order to move up within the company.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 year work experience required.
• Equipment operator experience preferred.
• Must have a great attention to detail to be able to detect the presence of product or production issues.
• Ability to understand verbal and written communications in English.
• Ability to visually inspect product and materials.
• An understanding or wiliness to learn food manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
