GL Accountant

GL Accountant will be responsible for performing a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to the general ledger and cash applications functions. This generally includes processing and verifying accounts payable payments and processing the automated bank statements in SAP. They should have a solid background in basic accounting practices. The GL Accountant should be detail oriented, have strong time management skills, and possess effective communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversee and contribute to all assigned tasks including but not limited to:

• Processing of weekly accounts payable payment runs

• Processing daily automated bank statements

• GL analytical review
• Post receipt transactions to the general ledger

• Post monthly journal entries to the general ledger

• GL account reconciliations

• Other tasks as assigned

• Safeguard company assets
• Ensure policies, processes and controls are thorough, timely and are being followed, report upward weaknesses and issues
• Ensure timely processing for all AP & AR processes

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 3 to 5 years accounting experience preferred
• SAP experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail, analytical capabilities, accuracy and drive to completion
• Strong sense of ownership
• Organized and able to multitask – not let anything "slip through the cracks”
• Microsoft Excel and Word software experience
• Good communication and organization skills
