SUMMARY:
As a Manual Lathe Operator at FEUER Powertrain, you will play a crucial role in producing precision-machined crankshafts that meet tight tolerances and high-quality standards. You'll be responsible for manually machining crankshaft components using engine lathes and other traditional equipment in support of production schedules and prototype runs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate manual lathes to perform precision turning, facing, and threading operations on crankshaft blanks or semi-finished parts.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and process documentation.
Inspect parts using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure compliance with FEUER's quality standards.
Set up tools and make fine adjustments to machine controls to achieve required tolerances and finishes.
Collaborate with CNC operators, process engineers, and quality technicians to optimize workflows and troubleshoot machining issues.
Maintain production logs and follow proper documentation procedures.
Uphold FEUER's commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent years of relevant experience
Minimum 3 years of experience operating manual engine lathes in a precision machining environment.
Strong understanding of crankshaft machining processes, tolerances, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings.
Proficiency in using precision measurement tools.
Basic understanding of shop math and geometric tolerancing.
Industrial production environment; exposure to oil, metal shavings, and machine noise.
Frequent standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and repetitive manual tasks.
