What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Customer Service Representative position at Fette Veterinary Clinic?
We are seeking a motivated, coachable individual to join our team in an entry-level position with the opportunity to grow in veterinary medicine. This is a hands-on role for someone who is willing to work hard, learn quickly, and be part of a fast-paced, team-driven environment. You will be trained as both a Veterinary Assistant and a Customer Service Representative, and once trained, scheduled where the hospital needs you most. This position requires open availability and the ability to work 12 PM – 9 PM shifts—if these hours do not work for you, this role will not be a good fit. Full time is only a 4 day work week!
Duties
- Greet clients at the front desk and provide assistance with inquiries regarding services and products.
- Manage appointment scheduling and confirmations for veterinary services.
- Provide information to educate clients about their pets’ health needs.
- Assist in medication administration under the supervision of veterinary staff.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions in the system.
- Handle client concerns and complaints with empathy and professionalism, ensuring a positive experience.
- Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians during procedures as needed, including tasks related to animal restraint.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and waiting room.
- Count and fill medications in our clinics pharmacy
- A variety of other tasks as needed for the betterment of our clients, patients and hospital.
Experience
- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred, particularly in a veterinary or animal care setting.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology is desirable.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is a plus.
- Experience working with animals in a kennel or clinic environment is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential for success in this role.
